Mind, Body, and Spirit are nearly universally accepted as the holistic elements describing the human experience. Purpose informs the Spirit and profoundly influences the Mind and Body. Yet, the Spirit remains largely debated, ill-defined, and shrouded in mystery. It seems so impractical when the mortgage or rent is due.
Yet, the Spirit is inescapably in and around us. Everything and at every time, the secular and the sacred world are present, vying for our attention and ethic. Within the Spirit, good and evil are as real as the Ukrainian battlefields.
Meet MaxPaul Franklin
In 1997, filmmaker and friend MaxPaul Franklin was the Director of Photography for a short movie called Invisible Enemies. A college student finds a pair of glasses that when worn allow him to see the demonic world. Imagine what that must be like! This film sticks with me because it’s a spiritual warfare thriller.
By definition your 2-word purpose is good, not evil. It bridges the mundane and meaningful into practical spiritual application and calls to your highest and noblest self. Having discerned your purpose, you’ve felt the inner warfare and heightened accountability to be true to your soul and to serve the common good. When you’re off-purpose, you experience this inner turmoil.
A spiritual perspective is essential to your well-being, earning capacity, and happiness. Without it, we’re caught up in our career, checkbook, children, and more as we seek meaning and joy. Life feels empty, heavy, and discouraging. Be thankful your purpose aroused this awareness. As challenging, and even scary as it can be, it’s the developmental path to Mind, Body, and Spirit.
Purpose taps into the spiritual energy within and around us. Despite our present condition, purpose allows us to breathe a sign of relief that something greater than ourselves is conspiring for our benefit and victory even as invisible enemies wage war.
Be On-Purpose!
