Yes? Being on-purpose begets being more on-purpose.
You have a remarkable opportunity to reverse engineer your activity and your Purpose, Vision, Missions, and Values (PVMV) to expand this experience to further enhance other areas of your life and work. Because you’re seeing successful integration of PVMV, you know it’s possible to be highly energized, productive, and peaceful. Build upon what you’re experiencing to carry your positive momentum forward to further recalibrate those remaining off-purpose areas of your life using the methods below.
No? Not loving what you’re doing means something has to change. It’s easy to blame the conditions surrounding you such as a bad boss, an unfaithful partner, being disrespected, and myriad other factors. Don’t go there!
1. Recognize your situation for what it is and say, “Oh, it’s just a TOUGH SHIFT.” Discharge any negativity in order to move positively forward. If you need to do some deep soul searching, use the Want List and Tournament method presented in The On-Purpose Person to sort to what’s most meaningful and important to your well-being and then put an on-purpose plan in place that includes your Ideal On-Purpose Day to ensure your time is being wisely invested.
2. Adopt the Think Inc! mindset presented in The On-Purpose Business Person to take 100% responsibility for yourself. This isn’t about discharging the mistreatment at the hands of others, but about what you’ll do next. Avoid becoming a victim of the blame game. Accepting the entire responsibility for your future clears the unproductive fog of backward looking fault-finding and breaks you free to focus on putting your PVMV to work. This liberation from assigning liability opens the heart and mind to creativity, hidden opportunities, and fresh relationships.
3. Realize you mistakenly think you have a Mission mismatch (doing) when you actually have Purpose, Vision, Missions, and Values context issue. Review your personal PVMV to identify the weak link(s) in your alignment and integration process. This simple strategic analysis pinpoints your greatest need for clarity; then fix it. Loving what you’re doing is the outcome of clarifying your PVMV and implementing your aligned on-purpose plan.
